The Rwanda Young Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Network was established in 2022 with a clear mission: to create a society where the SRHR of all women and girls in their diversities are respected, protected, and fulfilled. Born out of the collective vision of young women-led organizations, the Network brings together civil society organizations (CSOs) and social enterprises committed to advancing women’s rights and championing sexual and reproductive health and justice in Rwanda.
Since its inception, the Network has grown into a vibrant and inclusive platform that unites 16 young women-led organizations. It serves as a safe and empowering space for collaboration, peer learning, and coordinated advocacy on critical SRHR issues, including access to accurate information, family planning, menstrual health, safe abortion, comprehensive sexuality education, and the fight against gender-based violence.
In its early years, the Network amplified young women’s voices in national and regional dialogues, influenced public debates, and actively engaged in civil society platforms to address pressing SRHR challenges. Through consistent mobilization, exchange, and capacity-building efforts, the Network has strengthened solidarity among its members and built a credible foundation for sustainable advocacy.
Guided by its motto, “Empower to Empower,” the Rwanda Young Women’s SRHR Network continues to lead collective action aimed at ensuring equal and inclusive access to SRHR services and products — shaping a healthier, more just, and more equitable future for women and girls across Rwanda.
Strengthening women-led organizations to drive change from the grassroots to national levels.
